He began his trading journey from a modest apartment in Toronto, making his first profit on $AAL (American Airlines). That $100 win sparked a passion that would evolve into this growth.
But trading wasn’t just about wins. It was about persistence. Thousands of ups and downs, countless setbacks, and moments of doubt followed. Yet Shahryar kept showing up, kept learning, and kept building, eventually founding Meta Trading Club, a global trading community and incubator for retail traders.
The Moomoo × NASDAQ Summit Experience
Earlier this month, Shahryar was invited to New York City for the Moomoo × NASDAQ Summit, joining traders, entrepreneurs, and influencers from Canada, the U.S., Australia, and Japan.
The summit offered deep dives into the Moomoo platform, NASDAQ TotalView, and index options trading, but it was the conversations that truly resonated. Discussions on discipline, technology, and the future of retail trading. All reminded us why community and mindset matter just as much as market knowledge.
Standing on the NASDAQ Podium
The highlight of the trip was stepping onto the NASDAQ podium, the same stage where companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Netflix celebrated their IPOs.
Inside the studio, surrounded by broadcast lights and panoramic screens. Shahryar stood at the podium, a surreal moment that symbolized how far determination can take you. The tour revealed relics of innovation, including Apple’s 1984 Macintosh and Netflix’s first shipped DVD. All reminding us that every giant starts small.
