T-Mobile US is a major American wireless carrier headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. It was founded in 1994 and became T-Mobile after Deutsche Telekom acquired VoiceStream Wireless in 2001. The company offers mobile, broadband, and enterprise services under brands like T-Mobile, Metro, and Mint Mobile.

T-Mobile serves over 130 million subscribers across the United States and its territories. It provides 5G coverage to more than 330 million people nationwide. The company also supports prepaid, postpaid, and wholesale customers through various retail and digital channels. T-Mobile is known for its “Un-carrier” strategy, focusing on customer value and innovation. It merged with Sprint in 2020 to expand its network and market share. Today, it ranks as the second-largest wireless provider in the U.S.

T-Mobile Fiscal Q2 2025

T-Mobile US (TMUS) had a record-breaking Q2 2025, adding more postpaid and 5G broadband customers than any other carrier. This strong growth led to its highest-ever quarterly profit, top service revenue growth, and strong cash flow. The company returned $3.5 billion to shareholders through buybacks and dividends.

T-Mobile added 1.7 million postpaid customers and 454,000 5G broadband users, both leading the industry.

This surge in customer growth fueled strong financial results, including $17.4 billion in service revenue and $3.2 billion in net income, both up year-over-year.

Earnings per share hit a Q2 record of $2.84, and operating cash flow jumped 27%, reflecting the company’s momentum and market leadership.

Outlook

T-Mobile raised its 2025 outlook to reflect the upcoming Metronet deal, while excluding the UScellular acquisition.

It now expects 6.1 to 6.4 million postpaid customer additions, including up to 3.1 million phone users and 100,000 fiber customers.

Financial targets also improved slightly, with core EBITDA, operating cash flow, and free cash flow all nudged higher, while capital spending remained unchanged at $9.5 billion.

Board Statements

T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert stated that the company broke its own growth records in Q2, achieving its highest-ever postpaid and postpaid phone net additions. He emphasized that T-Mobile’s combination of network quality and strong value continues to attract customers at a record pace. Sievert added that these strengths have translated into industry-leading service revenue growth and record Q2 free cash flow.

Impact on the Stock Market

T-Mobile shares jumped more than 6% after posting strong Q2 2025 earnings that exceeded market expectations. The company added a record number of postpaid and 5G broadband customers, driving service revenue up by 6% and net income to an all-time quarterly high of $3.2 billion. With earnings per share at $2.84 and solid cash flow, the results sparked investor enthusiasm and sent the stock sharply higher.
